Siya Kolisi shows support for Bafana Bafana with special visit

If you thought you were Bafana Bafana's biggest fan, you might have some tough competition.

Siya Kolisi is Bafana Bafana's biggest fan, and the rugby star paid a special visit to "our heroes" Bafana Bafana ahead of their international friendly match in Durban.
South Africa's national football team took on Panama at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, March 27 and drew 1 - 1 against the Central American team.

The game is part of Bafana Bafana's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, kicking off in June, with the two teams facing off again on 31 March at the DHL Stadium, Cape Town.
Kolisi was all smiles when he caught up with the team at Sky Venue.
The Springbok captain went all in, sporting Bafana Bafana gear, including the team's new away jersey.

"Amaqhawe ethu," he captioned the post featuring pictures with Captain Ronwen Williams and the rest of the squad.

Kolisi's fans praised him for giving "our boys" a boost before their big match.
"Siya, you are definitely one of a kind. You always make sure you support everyone," one fan commented on Instagram.
Another user wrote: "Oh, Captain, our Captain. Our National treasure."

Siya wasn't the only one excited to see our national football team play.
Bafana Bafana also received a warm welcome when they arrived at King Shaka International Airport on Thursday.

Locals made sure to give them the full superstar treatment upon their return home as they were greeted by traditional dancers and soccer fans who enthusiastically cheered and waved South African flags.
"The atmosphere at the airport this afternoon was electric, reflecting the passion and support of the Durban community," eThekwini Municipality officials said in a statement.

The last time Bafana Bafana played in Durban was against Zimbabwe in October 2025.
Ahead of the recent game, eThekwini Municipality said the city was ready to deliver another successful sporting event.

"The City has confirmed its readiness to host the international friendly, which is expected to attract thousands of football enthusiasts. Comprehensive preparations have been completed to ensure a safe, secure, and world-class experience for all spectators," officials said.
