WATCH: SA reacts to TikToker's new spin on a classic SA dish

If you are bored of eating normal pap, here is a new recipe for you to try.

If you are looking for yummy recipes, kitchen hacks or anything else food-related, TikTok is a seemingly never-ending source.

From viral recipes to kitchen fails, TikTok has a video that will make you laugh or drool.

The most recent local viral food sensation involves a SA staple - pap.

This could be a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

One TikTok user, @harppiness_, shared their unique take on this recipe and created purple pap.

How did they make it purple?

Instead of just cooking the pap in water, they substituted it for red wine.

While wine is often used in cooking, this is the first time many of us have seen it used with a dish like this.

The video has over 500,000 views, and opinions are divided.

However, many are less than impressed by this "innovation":

One person even referenced a previous 'pap trend': "Pap nuggets, now this ?😭 JusticeForPap🙆🏽‍♂️".

We might quickly judge, but don't knock it until you've tried it.

Pap might be a popular SA dish, but Rozanne McKenzie had gone her entire life without trying it.
