The duo defeated Australian home favourites Ymerali Ibraimi and Cooper Kose, earning a straight-sets 6-3, 6-4 win.

Not only did he walk away a Grand Slam champion, but he is also the first South African to win a junior title at the Australian Open.

Doig spoke to the South African Sports Confederation, Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SASCOC) about their time at the competition and what it took to reach the finals.

He also said that they definitely felt more pressure during the final, but they just tried to keep it simple and kept to the winning strategy that got them there.
