YouTuber accused of stealing cat and keeping it hostage

Jaclyn Hill is a very well-known beauty YouTuber who has been creating content on the video-sharing platform since 2011 and has amassed more than 5.5-million subscribers.

In her 12 years in the industry, she has also had her fair share of scandals, and just when she might have thought things were quieting down, somebody let the cat out of the bag. Literally.

Hill had recently shared on her Instagram story that she had "adopted" a stray cat but already faced some backlash when viewers asked why the cat, called Marty, was being left outside.

In a Reddit thread, user u/tllallyrfrnds posted screenshots of Jaclyn's story:

Things soon escalated when another Reddit user seemed to hint that the cat was never a stray cat at all:

Eventually, Jaclyn felt the need to stand up and defend herself.

She decided to take Marty to the veterinarian to prove that she was not chipped and did not belong to anyone else who might have claimed that she was keeping it hostage:

While this might be one of the weirdest scandals of the year, so far, hopefully the people now have enough clarity on the situation.
