Good Morning Angels: Easing the burden of transport for three hard working men

Friday on our Good Morning Angels Festive Edition with Roman's Pizza we lift the daily travel and financial burden of three hard working men!

GMA Festive Security Guards
Jacaranda FM

BACKGROUND: We drive and walk past them daily, the men and women keeping an eye out to make sure we are as safe as we can be going about our business - Security Guards. In South Africa, Security Guards are so common, that we almost don’t even notice them. However, Ina Pieters not only noticed the security guards at her place of work in Rosebank, she regularly chats with them.

Pieters describes Bheki Mshwele, Phumlani Mthembu, and Champion Bhebhe as very sweet, very lovely, very worthy guys, who keep us safe and comfortable. All three men spend two to three hours a day walking to work and back after their long shifts because they simply cannot afford public transport.

That’s why Ina wrote to Good Morning Angels for some assistance to make these three breadwinners' daily commute a little easier.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear Good Morning Angels,

Trust you are doing absolutely great.

I have a strange request - for three very worthy people.  We have 3 security guards where I work, very sweet, very lovely guys.  They keep us safe and comfortable here in the midst of Rosebank.  They are always friendly and helpful. They all stay far from their work, two in Berea and one in Orange Grove.

They walk to work every shift and back home after every shift.  It takes two to three hours out of their day that is already extremely long. Their salaries with all their commitments are such that they cannot afford taxis or public transport.

Is it at all possible that you can assist me in getting them each a nice mountain bike to use back and forth?  They would really appreciate it so much, and it will make their lives just that tiny bit easier.

Thank you so much, I would really appreciate your assistance with this.

With kindest regards

Ina
