Good Morning Angels: A helping hand to those who ensure a meal a day for an entire community

The Manger Care Center started their work in different communities in 1994. They have several projects to assist vulnerable people in different communities with specific needs. Their Dolphin House in Pretoria is a safe haven for children who cannot live at home, the Manger Marine in Uitzicht cares for elderly and disabled people. The Manger’s seedling project is also a way of income for the work they do. The Manger has however struggled lately, to keep their Manna Soup Kitchen afloat.

BACKGROUND: The Manger Care Centre started their work in different communities in 1994. They have several projects to assist vulnerable people in different communities with specific needs. Their Dolphin House in Pretoria is a safe haven for children who cannot live at home, the Manger Marine in Uitzicht cares for elderly and disabled people. The Manger also runs a bakery, where people from the community are employed and their baked goods sold to fund the Manger’s projects. The Manger’s seedling project is also a way of income for the work they do. The Manger has however struggled lately, to keep their Manna Soup Kitchen afloat. This project provides ingredients for balanced meals on a weekly basis to more than 40 early childhood development facilities in the Etwatwa area of Ekhuruleni. They also struggle to find clothing for men, cared for at their Eden facility for destitute people. The Manger has cared for so many people over the past 22 years, but the difficult economic times have taken it’s toll on their ability to runs their projects and now the Manger needs some Angel help.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear Jacaranda

We at the Manger just want to say thanks for all the good work, may God bless you.

Then we come to ask so nice, if you could please help us. We are really battling with two of our projects. The one is the Manger: Eden, were we house and care for abused women and children as well as destitute single women and men. Our biggest problem is finding men’s clothing. It is so hard to get clothes for these guys. The, we also battle with our Manna Soup Kitchen. This kitchen provides food for the children of 40 crèches in the Etwatwa area on a weekly basis.  We need food, mieliemeel especially.

We ask so nice if Good Morning Angels could help us help these people. It would be so appreciated.

Many Thanks

Vernon Matthyse
