BACKGROUND: Jankie is a hard-working handyman. He’s over 60, full of life, with a great sense of humour. He’s colleagues were none the wiser about the horrible time he has had with personal loss over the past year or so. First, Jankie's brother was murdered at his workplace, then his wife died due to illness earlier this year and then his sister passed away unexpectedly.

Jankie dealt with all the loss on his own and travelled to KwaZulu Natal, to bring his two orphaned nephews home with him, to take care of them.  Jankie lives in a humble squatter camp home with his own three children and now also has the responsibility of caring for 14-year-old Sipho and 8-year-old John as well.

His colleague, Jacqui McArthur found out about his predicament and wrote to Good Morning Angels for assistance for this dedicated uncle, who needs help looking after two boys, who have lost everything they knew.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Hi Jacaranda

My work friend is Jankie Mahlinza. He is over 60 years old and works as a handyman with the company that I work for.
He is a very humble and caring man with a great sense of humour.
But he has had a horrible time. His brother was murdered at his workplace.
He lost his wife to illness this year, then his sister passed away unexpectedly.
He has nothing - lives in a squatter camp - but he went to KZN and fetched his sister's sons, Sipho,14 and John, 8 years old, to look after them.

He doesn't tell anyone about his troubles. I just found out when he asked for R50 before payday to feed his nephews.

Of course, I gave him everything I had in my purse, but it's not enough. I'm asking for help for Jankie to feed and clothe his nephews.

With losing their mum and everything they knew, their friends and school, my heart breaks for them.
Please could the angels help Jankie this Christmas, with food hampers and clothing vouchers?
These boys need counselling and some love - and so does Jankie.

Kind regards
Jacqui McArthur
