GOOD MORNING ANGELS 29 MARCH 2017 (LIFESTYLE/COMPASS)

RECIPIENT:  Janine Juries from Compass

ANGEL:  Ann Jooste, Centurion Lifestyle Centre Manager

SPONSORING: R20 000,00 in Centurion Lifestyle vouchers

BACKGROUND:  Compass Community Provision and Social Services are located on the East Rand. Currently they have three homes where people are able to get a second chance at life. They provide for the basic needs of the homeless and downtrodden, but also help with training in order for those who are jobless to find jobs and become independent members of the community. Compass also has a day care centre where they are currently looking after 77 children, who would otherwise be left without food and shelter. They rely on donations to enable them to do this.

Last November, Gauteng and specifically the East Rand, was hit by heavy rains that resulted in flash floods. Images of cars under water on the highway made the headlines. With all the rain, the Compass Child Care facility was also hit by this flood.

Not only did they lose office equipment, they also lost their storeroom. This room held all the neccessities they needed to survive - food and resources.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:  Compass Community Provision and Social Services

Good Day,

I hope and trust that all is well.

PLEASE WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP.

We care for approximately 77 babies & children from disadvantaged backgrounds-looking after all their needs.

OUR STOCK ROOMS ARE ALMOST EMPTY!

WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD TO FEED ALL THE CHILDREN!

WE NEED SPONSORS FOR 30 OF THE CHILDREN@R2100-PER CHILD –WHICH WILL HELP US LOOK

AFTER A CHILD FOR A PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS

At this stage, I would like to appeal to your heart, to assist me with a once off emergency sponsorship please.

Our premises on the East Rand flooded during heavy rains in November 2016.

We lost office equipment and suffered some flood damage, but the worst was that our stockroom was also affected.

A lot of the food and other necessities that we kept in this room was destroyed and we are struggling to get ahead again.

Any assistance you can give, will be most gratefully appreciated.

Please help us keep our vision for these children alive.

Kind regards,

Doreen
