Have you ever wondered what exactly they make Kit Kats out of? Well, the answer may not be as straightforward as you think.

Many people think that Kit Kats are made of chocolate with wafer biscuits wedged inside, but that is not entirely true.
It turns out that Kit Kats are made out of the remains of other crushed up Kit Kats.
During the manufacturing process, some chocolates get broken, so the defective chocolates are liquified and are used to layer the wafer inside a finished chocolate.

It is an ingenious way to minimise food wastage, and it gives Kit Kats their distinct flavour and texture.
