A video showing a Ukrainian military couple getting married amid ongoing hostilities has been going viral.

In the video posted to Twitter, Lesya Filimonova and Valeriy Filimonov get married at a military checkpoint in the city of Kyiv.
The couple had reportedly been together for twenty years and did not think marriage was necessary, but recent events changed their minds.

The marriage was also attended by the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitchko, who used the moment to call for peace.
