Couple sends invoices to guests that did not attend wedding

A newlywed couple has sent guests invoices for not attending their wedding.

Doug and Debra Simmons made headlines across the globe for sending out invoices to guests that did not attend their wedding reception.

The Simmons couple recently celebrated their wedding day with close family and friends. 109 guests were invited, but only 101 attended. 

The couple sent out invoices to those who did not attend. The couple paid about R1,700 for each guest that did not attend.

"This invoice is being sent to you because you confirmed seat(s) at the wedding during the Final Headcount. The amount above is the cost of your individual seats. Because you didn't call or give us proper notice that you wouldn't be in attendance, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seat(s) in advance," the invoice explained. 

According to reports, the couple reminded guests four times to RSVP.
