"I've also made mistakes" - Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi apologises

Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has apologised for old social media posts she made when she was younger.

After a Miss South Africa 2020 hopeful was trolled on social media for past racial tweets - Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi addressed her followers by saying that she has also made mistakes in the past. 

After the racial tweets of Miss South Africa were again shared on social media - a lot of comparisons were made between current entrants and Zozibini, saying she has no skeletons in her closet.

Zozibini took to Instagram to say that she has also made mistakes in the past. 

"I have actually had a lot on my mind. I think a lot of it comes from a conversation that has been happening around the country with regards to a particular Miss South Africa entrant whose tweets were recently dug up and brought to light," she said.

People put Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi on a pedestal - which is understandable with her current position in society. This led her to look through her own old Facebook and Twitter posts which date as far back as 2012.

"I saw a lot of things that I wasn't proud of; a lot of things I had said about myself and about others."

"I want to take the time to apologise for those posts that I’ve shared, to apologise to anyone that is/was affected by those posts and just to say that those posts are in direct contrast to who I am and everything that I stand for," she apologised.
