When he got married in 1993, he also made his own wedding attire.
In 1993, Gideon van der Westhuizen made his own wedding suit and designed and made his wife, Colette's, wedding dress.

The wedding dress had a veil of 10 meters that was inspired by Princess Diana's wedding dress.
When his son, Trevennon, got engaged to Chantell, they both decided to ask Gideon to make their wedding attire.
It took Gideon about 18 months to complete the wedding dress. The dress had a veil of 8 meters.

Gideon, along with his son and his daughter-in-law, visited the Scenic Drive to talk about their wedding attires and the man behind it.
