Wheelchair tennis star Kgothatso Montjane, ranked fifth in the world after making it to the semi-finals at Wimbledon early in 2018 (thus becoming the first black South African woman to do so), says tennis stole her heart when she was 20 years old.

A keen athlete, Montjane has had success as a ballroom dancer as well as a field athlete in past years.

Montjane, with support from Wheelchair Tennis South Africa and a few other sponsors who believe in her talent, has made a name for herself on the international wheelchair tennis circuit. In addition to being the first black South African woman to play at Wimbledon, Montjane has also represented the country three times - in 2008, 2012, and 2016 - at the Paralympic Games.
