REQUEST FROM: Eurika van der Walt

REQUEST FOR: Tony and Elma Venter from Mooinooi

ANGEL:  Lance Smith from Avis Rent-a-car, along with Rennies Travel, our fabulous Festive Edition Sponsors

SPONSORING:  Avis Rent-a-car and Rennies Travel will donate R25 000,00 to Elma and Tony for expenses and necessities, while he recovers from his life-saving bone marrow transplant

BACKGROUND: Tony is in hospital recovering today. He has been through the process of cancer treatment, finding a bone marrow donor and getting the transplant. Now, he is in isolation, after the transplant, as his immune system is very vulnerable and the slightest infection is life-threatening. Tony has been ill for a very long time and his recovery period will stretch until the end of February 2016. He has already depleted his sick and other leave and is on unpaid leave now. Tony's partner, Elma works as a security officer and does not earn enough to pay for all their living expenses and the medical bills, not covered by their medical aid plan. Their friend, Eurika asked Good Morning Angels to help these fighters with ordinary living ... like food, municipal bills and rent.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear GOOD MORNING ANGELS,

I am writing to request your financial help for a male patient named Tony MacLean, 66 years old.

Tony has been diagnosed with 3 (THREE) DIFFERENT TYPES OF CANCER and has suffered severe pain and agony for a long time. Despite this, he is a very positive person and I have a great deal of respect for his fighting spirit. Tony is under the treatment of an oncologist, Dr Thomson at Pretoria East Hospital where he was admitted three weeks ago for harvesting of his stem cells and was temporarily released to recover at home. Unfortunately, he also received the devastating news that he has to get rid of his pets for health reasons and this has emotionally been very hard on him and he is taking the loss really hard. Tony works at a chicken farm and has been on sick leave for a length of time now and his sick leave days are depleted, and is now unpaid leave.

However, the reason for my request is that on 23 NOVEMBER 2015 the patient, Tony, will be admitted again in Pretoria East Hospital to undergo a life-saving BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT.  Post-operative he will not be able to work until at least 24 February 2016, if his health completely returns. Although he has medical aid at a lower option, all costs not paid by the medical fund will have to be paid by Tony himself. The problem is he will not have any income after the operation and urgently needs help to pay living expenses such as rent, electricity, groceries, bills, etc. Tony and his common law wife, Elma, need help in order to literally survive daily living in this difficult time.

Elma has been very supportive. She was divorced some time ago. She lost her son, when he was in matric some three years ago. His twin-sister's dad passed away and was buried last week. She has remained strong, but all this on top of Tony's illness is taking its toll. I just wish there was a way to lessen the financial burden.

Thank you for considering this URGENT request. Confirmation of his condition can be confirmed with the oncologist, Dr Thomson, and his admission details with Pretoria East Hospital if necessary.

THANK YOU SINCERELY ANGELS
