ORIGINAL REQUEST:

To the Good Morning Angles,

We all know that children and young people are the future of our existence.

Being involved with local Yurok Spur in Phalaborwa, you meet a large array of kids and their parents.

One specific day in August at Yurok Spur, I met a young girl of 8 years. Nelmarie Korff. She suffers from a very scares type of muscle cancer. Threw all the trauma of the last year she is still very brave and smiles as of nothing is wrong. She will continue with chemo until the end of January 2016. They are currently boosting her system so that she could undergo a very delicate operation to see if the tumour which is located behind eye. The operation is scheduled for late November in Cape Town.  Her mother Chantel Korff mentioned that she was registered with Ribbons 4 Roses Charity. Their medical fund is totally depleted and they depend on donations and fund raisers to cover all the needed costs.

I immediately made contact with Ribbons 4 Roses CEO, Ampie Fourie. I mentioned to her that I met Nelmarie and that I willing to help were possible to raise desperately needed funds.

Ampie mentioned that there was another young girl in Tzaneen that also needed funds desperately.

Marcell Van Vuuren a 24-year old hairstylist was involved in a motor vehicle accident December last year. She was so badly injured with the result both her legs were amputated above her knees and her back also got hurt very badly.

After several operations it was established that she cannot use normal prostheses as she would not be able to move them. She needs a more advanced type, almost a bionic prosthesis. The cost for this is in the region of R1.2 mil.

So what do I do to help the awesome cause that raise money for kids with Cancer, Autism, Down syndrome, Disabilities and young people with special needs....

A team mate of mine Vincent Calaca and I enter the Nedbank Desert Dash in Namibia on the 11-12 December 2015. This is a 369km, 24 hour dash from Windhoek to Swakopmund.  We depart from Windhoek 15:00 and arrive before cut off time 24 hours later in Swakopmund. We will be riding the desert threw the night and then endure the Namibian sun during the day.

We entered as team Ribbons4 Roses Warriors, Race For Life, because we saw the need to fight for children and support their disparately needed funds.

All funds required by us, is paid for by ourselves. This in total is in the region of R30000.00 for the team. This included the entry fees and flights.

So how are we going to attempt to raise funds.

The idea is that we get companies and individuals to sponsor us an amount of R1000 or R2000 per kilometre. Our goal is to raise R750000.00 for the Ribbons 4 Roses, Nelmarie Korff/Marcelle Van Vuuren Charity. After the Desert Dash we will continue the Race for Life campaign raising funds for children with special needs.

Were asking if Good Morning Angels will be able to help us by donating to the Ribbons 4 Roses Warriors Campaign.

We hope that you can find it in your hearts to help these two beautiful and wonderful girls.

Attached I have two stories of two girls needing help. I have also added photos of the severity of Marcell's injuries and her road to recovery.

Kind regards,

Tony & Vincent
