Load shedding a distant memory?

Eskom has brought back some bad memories of load shedding.
On Thursday, the parastatal announced its operational plans to avoid rolling blackouts - and so the memories of the lights going off came rolling back into our heads.
Do you remember where you were the first time you experienced load shedding?
The Late Show's Carla Mackenzie recalls being at home studying for her matric exams by candlelight when the lights first went off in 2008 - as far as she can remember.

There was a time when South Africans would unexpectedly be plunged into darkness as Eskom suffered under high electricity demand, ailing infrastructure and coal shortages.
