Travelling for some is food to their existence - and to have been without it for such a long time has left many people in make-up mode.

So you will find now more than ever, even with the extensive travel requirements and COVID-19 checkboxes, many people are taking full advantage of travel and tourism.

But that doesn't mean that the process is easy. When deciding where to visit, travellers take into consideration visa requirements, because this can be both costly and a tedious process.

In fact, a new quarterly report released by Henley & Partners reveals that three Asian passports are offering their citizens greater travel freedom with updated visa requirements.

"Japan has pushed ahead of Singapore and South Korea to offer its citizens visa-free or visa-on-demand access to a record 193 destinations around the world, compared to the other two leaders' 192." (CNN)

However, due to Asia's more cautious response to the pandemic, Asians are less likely to take advantage of these travel freedoms.

In comparison, those holding European or American passports differ in their approach.

The top three Asian passports with these freedoms include: Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. Then comes several European countries like "Germany and Spain who are tied on 190 destinations, followed by Finland, Italy, Luxembourg on 189." (CNN)

Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweden take spot number five and France, Ireland, Portugal, and United Kingdom are in sixth place.

"New Zealand and the United States make an appearance at No.7, alongside Belgium, Norway and Switzerland. Afghan nationals sit at the bottom of the index once again, and can access just 27 countries without requiring a visa in advance." (CNN)
