Crocs-shaped waffles: The latest street food craze
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp / Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
What do you think about desserts or street food shaped like a shoe?
Exploring street food when travelling is a highlight for many tourists. It allows people to step outside their comfort zones and be adventurous with the type of cuisine they eat.
However, some people are unwilling to step outside their comfort zones when trying new foods. Street food can be a bit daunting. Do you remember the craze around deep-fried tomato sauce?
We've seen this street food before on social media, but this time it seems some are not so keen on trying it because it resembles the shape of Crocs.

The waffle shoes are created with a special waffle maker iron that allows batter to be poured onto both sides of a mould. The food vendor adds a special surprise by adding chocolate and Oreo sprinkles. He even adds a savoury twist with what looks like cheese.
What would be even cooler is if they came in people's actual shoe sizes...
The finished product looks like kids' Crocs, and while some social media users may not find them appealing, they are a hit with others.
- "I don’t know why I can’t eat stuff like this. It may be very creative, but I can’t eat it and it’s not appealing. It doesn’t make me feel like I’m eating food."
- "He wanted to be a shoe maker but ended up as a chef."
- "Giving me another reason to go out and buy shoes."
- "That's awesome and unique, i love it."
- "I love Asians; they are so creative!! What would we do without their awesome creations?"
