Dad talks to his toddler about his public meltdown
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp
This was so wonderful to listen to, a beautiful example of how to parent kindly and lovingly.
Holding yourself accountable is always challenging when things don't go exactly as they should.
But that's what life is all about: we live and learn. What's more challenging is when you are not the one who requires the lesson but the one responsible for delivering it. A father showed us that handling our kids' meltdowns in public doesn't have to be complicated.
In a video shared on Instagram, we see a little boy, Kevin, admitting to having a meltdown. But what surprised us was his willingness to admit he was wrong and acknowledge how he would do better.

This little munchkin, or squish mallow, doesn't get away with everything, even though you would think he does based on his cuteness...
We love how dad asks him to answer questions based on his behaviour and he comes up with the answer himself. Thereby getting him to acknowledge his faults on his own.
He is a little rascal, though - check him out another video where he got a timeout again. Video courtesy of Instagram.
