A teacher's heartwarming way of showing he cares

It's teachers like this who have a deep-rooted passion for uplifting their learners.
"You see what happens when people do a job because they're passionate about it... Our children benefit", says TikTok user Mzimba24.
He was commenting on a video shared by Meneer Mkhize, a teacher who recently posted a simple yet wholesome video on his TikTok page.
In the video, Mkhize sits at his desk in the classroom, enjoying his lunch.
As he takes a bite of his sandwich, he says that his meal for the day comes from the school's feeding scheme.
He shares that he supports the school's feeding scheme twice a week.
His motivation is simple yet impactful. Mkhize wants his students to feel comfortable enough to take a sandwich from the feeding scheme if they don’t have lunch.
Some learners may be ashamed to admit they have nothing to eat and would rather go hungry than take a sandwich. But by sharing the same meal, Mkhize leads by example, showing his students there’s no shame in accepting help.
His actions speak louder than words, creating a sense of trust and belonging in his classroom.
This simple gesture is more than just a meal – it’s a way of fostering connection, empathy, and a safe space for his students.
