Japanese artist repurposes unsold bread into lamps
She does this as a way to shed light on food wastage.
Food wastage is a big deal and in a world where there are people that are still living in poverty, it seems there needs to be a bright light shone on the topic.
Some of the best ways of shining a light on these economic and societal issues is through art.
And Japanese artist Yukiko Morita

Yukiko Morita has created 'Pampshades'. She purchases unsold bread from her local bakeries and turns them into lamps.
"Using a wide range of bread including croissants and baguettes, these bread lamps — called "Pampshades" — cost anywhere from $44 to $220 each." (Instagram)
That's around R844 to R4,200.
In an interview, Morita said: "The bread isn't edible anymore but it has a living appeal I can use. If I don't make it shine, who will?" (Instagram)
