No iron, no problem! Effective solution to wrinkled pants
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
Ironing has come a long way, but this man's creativity is hot off the press...
Who needs electricity when you've got a spade, a few pieces of braai wood and a little imagination.
One man's ironing hack is turning heads and heating up the internet.
Nothing finishes off your outfit of the day quite like a crisp, freshly pressed look.
But not everyone has an iron, and even if you do, you might be pressed for time or forced to rethink your whole look thanks to load shedding.
But where there's a will, there's away and Africans are nothing if not resourceful.
We recently saw how many Egyptians still use their traditional ironing techniques to keep their clothes looking fresh and crisp.
According to Philips SA using metal to iron is something the Chinese introduced over 1000 years ago, but researchers discovered that people used heated rocks to smooth out animal hides as long as 40,000 years ago.
Other materials, such as stones, glass, and presses, were used in the testing. The first flat iron was attributed to blacksmiths during the Middle Ages. The first irons may have led to the modern electric iron, but they weren't exactly user-friendly.
We came across a man who adopted one of these age-old techniques to remove the wrinkles from his jeans. While it may not have left him with a fresh smell, nor did it look safe, his method did leave his jeans free from wrinkles.
