Heartbreak as President Duterte crushes £4m-worth of luxury cars and motorcycles

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte destroyed more than 70 smuggled cars and motorbikes as part of an anti-corruption campaign.
Your heart will break when you see the video. Imagine millions being reduced to worthless rubbish in front of your eyes?!
The Philippines government shared a live stream on Facebook of heavy machinery crushing 76 smuggled cars, including Porsches, Lamborghinis, and bikes, in front of a crowd of spectators, including the president.
According to an official statement, these vehicles were part of a haul of 800 vehicles illegally imported into the country. The president’s Facebook page said 68 luxury cars were being “publicly wrecked through backhoe and bulldozer”, alongside eight motorbikes.

This is not the first time this has happened. Earlier in the year, Duterte ordered the destruction of 30 luxury vehicles, claiming that selling them at an auction would allow criminals to bid under false pretense.
Watching these cars being destroyed does put an ache in our hearts a bit.
