WhatsApp's new proposed feature to convert voice notes to text

Tired of those long WhatsApp voice notes from friends and family? Then this new WhatsApp feature will excite you. Great news for WhatsApp users, especially those who are sometimes lazy to type out their messages.
The popular messenger app is reportedly working on a new feature that will automatically convert voice notes to text, reports WABetaInfo.
How will the new feature work?
WABetaInfo reports that this new feature will be provided by Apple which is working to improve its speech recognition technology.

So, messages won’t be sent to the WhatsApp or Facebook server for transcription, but to Apple.
However, it won’t be directly linked to your identity.

Who will be able to use the new feature?
According to WABetaInfo, the transcript feature will be optional, however, permission will be required to use it.
Other developments
Over the years, WhatsApp has been working on new features. The recent one that has been announced is the Chat 2 Pay payment solution. This new feature will see business owners accept payments in chat messaging by simply sending the consumers a payment link via SMS or the app.
