You've probably heard of helicopter parenting, where parents are overprotective and always hovering over their children, but have you heard of free-range parenting?

Naylan Patel, age four, is allowed to do as he pleases. He chooses when to sleep and wake up, what he wants to eat, touches anything he wants to, and sleeps in his parents' bed.

His mom and dad say he is also allowed to curse, play with knives and fire. With free-range parenting, kids are allowed to learn by doing practically anything.

A video showing the family and other parents adhering to this style of parenting was shared on the New York Post. In the video, the little ones are allowed to cut wood with handsaws, use hammers and nails. The kids can even canoe on their own!
