Updated | By Kriya Gangiah
As we start a new year, this matriculant will give you all the motivation you need and also spark your hope for the generations to come.
An 18 year old learner showed that no matter your circumstances you can succeed.
Tumelo Mashigo was born with phocomelia, meaning he had a birth defect which saw his hands and feet attached to shortened arms and legs. Growing up different meant that he often had more than just academic success to contend with.
This year he became one of the top achieving matrics of 2017 and as the second-best performing learner with special needs, Mashigo has very big plans and hopes to fill big shoes in the years to come.
