One of the quickest ways to tell if your relationship will truly last into your golden years is to ask the question, "will we always have the most fun together?".

For Fran and Marlo Cowen, who got married in 1946, the answer was a resounding "yes". The couple wowed patients and visitors at Rochester's Mayo Clinic (a non-profit healthcare organisation) with their impromptu piano duet. Filmed by Jodi Hume, the video shows Fran and Marlo putting on an impressive performance of the 1909 Haydn Quartet song, "Your Old Grey Bonnet".

Fran and Marlo really get into the groove of their performance, and Jodi described how seeing the two enjoying their duet lifted the spirits of everyone present:

"From the balcony, we could see an older couple sitting side by side at the piano playing together and entertaining a host of people. Some were in wheelchairs, others were sitting with canes beside them or standing. Everyone was smiling with all burdens forgotten for the moment. The joy was absolutely indescribable."

Not only do Fran and Marlo sound great, they also manage to make a piano duet look easy! This kind of teamwork and passion is surely one of the ingredients that helped them to keep their marriage solid for so many years?

The video was filmed back in 2008, but this video has resurfaced online in recent months. The contagious energy coming from the pair makes this a moment that is forever relevant and inspiring.

Marlo, unfortunately, passed away in 2014, making this video an even more poignant reminder of the beautiful life he and his wife built together.
