LIVE from Parliament: President Ramaphosa delivers SONA
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the State Of the Nation Address at a joint sitting of Parliament on Thursday.
In his previous SONA addresses Ramaphosa vowed a "new dawn", promising economic revival and to fight endemic corruption, earning him plaudits even from the opposition benches.
But two years later, growth is tepid and unemployment remains stubbornly high at 29.1 percent while embarrassing details have emerged of corruption within the government and among African National Congress (ANC) officials.
Ramaphosa is expected to tackle these issues and many other lingering concerns at present, including those surrounding land reform, state-owned enterprises, the under performing economy, and unemployment.
