Alon Lits, General Manager of Uber's Sub-Saharan Africa operation isn't such a fast mover than he doesn't take time out to reflect for those in need in the true spirit of #Empathy that is The Sun International CEO SleepOut™. Learn more about this leader of a disruptive tech brand.
GM of Uber Sub-Saharan Africa Alon Lits talks through his motivations for participating in The Sun International CEO SleepOut™ 2016: “It’s just unbelievable the awareness it creates and just bringing together people really to foster change in our country. By no means, does one night out on the street give you a sense for what it’s like for others, but I think it does provide you with a bit of perspective.”
Alon joined Uber as its first General Manager in Africa in August 2013.
He began his career in the leveraged finance division of Investec Bank Limited, where he provided debt and preference share financing solutions to public and private companies in South Africa, as well as Africa’s largest private equity funds.
Before joining Uber, Alon interned with the emerging market focused private equity fund - LeapFrog Investments - focusing on investment opportunities throughout Africa. He holds an MBA from INSEAD where he was part of the leadership teams of both the Private Equity and Africa Clubs.
