Human Rights Day: SA remembers Sharpeville Massacre
Updated | By
Various organisations, church leaders, government officials as well as ordinary South Africans have descended on Sharpeville on Human Rights Day. Gauteng Premier David Makhura led a wreath laying ceremony at the Sharpeville Memorial at the Pelindaba Cemetery in remembrance of the 69 people who were shot and killed on this day in 1960. This was followed by an anti-racism march to the cricket pitch.
