Minister asks for calm at Northam

Mining Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane met with workers at the Northam Platinum mine Thursday afternoon, asking for stability to return to the area.

Violent clashes between the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) earlier this week led to underground operations at Northam's Zondereinde mine being suspended.
