Hawks arrest two for allegedly running a brothel
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi says the arrests on Tuesday follow a tip off from the public.
“A whistle-blower informed us of seven girls being forcibly detained in a flat in Bloemfontein CBD,” he says.
The girls are allegedly students between the ages of 18 and 20.
Drugs worth R5000 were also found hidden in the bottom of a kettle as well as pornographic material.
Mulaudzi says the girls have been taken to a place of safety and will be receiving counselling and other treatment.
The two Ugandan nationals will appear in court on Thursday on charges of drug dealing and charges relating to the Sexual Offences Act, as well as human trafficking.
