Teen in court for allegedly hacking his father with axe

The incident happened on July 22 at the Moeletsi hostel in Thabong.

“It is alleged that the suspect and his father had an argument which led into a fight between father and son,” police spokesman Mamello Mokhuoane said.

“During the fight Zingisile Richmond Xakuvana allegedly strangled his 19-year-old son who then he took an axe and hacked his father several time on the head and fled the scene on foot.”

Xakuvana was rushed to hospital where he is recovering.

His son was later arrested and detained at the Thabong police station pending his court appearance.
