Ayanda Nyathi hails from Alexandra and was hesitant to attend a school which seemed out of his league after being awarded a scholarship to St Stithians Boys College. But his mom pushed her son to attend, and he went on to graduate as one of the top achievers with 8 distinctions behind his name. He plans on studying Chemical Engineering at UCT.
Melissa de Charmont from Southdowns College in Irene, Pretoria managed to matriculate with 9 distinctions under the belt despite having a blood clot go through her heart after her maths exam. She powered through and went on to write Afrikaans the following day. Melissa plans on doing a B.Com Accounting at North-West University in Potchefstroom in hopes of returning to education and teaching one day.
These two young South Africans are the future of the country and after you listen to what they have to say about achieving their goals and share their thoughts on the future of SA, you will rest assured knowing that our country is in good hands.
