Is the ‘Snake Venom’ drink the world’s strongest beer?
The popular ‘Snake Venom’ beer is produced by UK brewery, Brewmeister.
We all love a beer on a Saturday afternoon to accompany the sport on TV or while hanging with mates. It is seen as a ‘chilled’ drink to enjoy when in the company of friends and family.
But there is a beer on the market that you cannot finish in one sitting.

How does one measure the alcohol in drinks? Alcohol by Volume (ABV) is a standard measure of how much alcohol (ethanol) is contained in the alcoholic beverage.
To put the beer’s alcohol level in context: Red wine usually has an alcohol volume of 40%.
Brewmeister’s ‘Snake Venom’ has an ABV of 67.5%.

According to Fine Dining Lovers, “a bottle of Snake Venom doesn’t come cheap. This curious concoction is brewed with smoke peat malt and Champagne and ale yeasts, with the beer undergoing multiple freezings during fermentation in order to maintain its strength. Pure beer science.”
Using August 2021’s exchange rate, a bottle of ‘Snake Venom’ will set you back R1,100 per bottle!
