WATCH: Boksburg pupil stuns with unique matric ball outfit

Boksburg matriculant Maurice Ellerbeck broke all the norms when he arrived in a very unique outfit at his school's matric farewell. Martin Bester spoke to Ellerbeck about his bold statement at the event.

Sion Private Academy matriculant Maurice Ellerbeck reigned supreme at the event, celebrating the end of his schooling career.
His unique attire went viral on social media with the post inspiring thousands to "love yourself".
Ellerbeck arrived in a gender-fluid outfit, comprising of half-dress and half-suit.

The bold design was inspired by the outfit worn by Michael Urie at the MET Gala.
Ellerbeck pulled it off flawlessly.
The journey to making the outfit was kept a secret from his peers until it was complete, and even then, it was a struggle to find a willing designer.

Ellerbeck told Breakfast with Martin Bester that it was time to embrace himself.
