Fire fighting efforts continue in Knysna
Updated | By MorneJK
Firefighters are still battling to bring the raging fires under control in Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.

According to the Western Cape Disaster Managment's James Brent-Styan, at least 85 percent has been contained.
"Firefighters are still fighting the fire in especially the Eden district, but we are confident to state that 85 percent of the firing line has been contained," he says.
Brent-Styan adds that the fire is not yet under control, and there is concern about predictions of gale force winds in the area on Saturday.
"There is an extremely high fire danger in the area. We are urging residents not to start any fires anywhere outside or indoors just to minimise the risk of any additional fires that could get out of hand," he says.
He also adds that if residents spot any fires, they should contact the fire brigade.
"All the resources currently deployed will remain on site until at least the end of the weekend as we try and bring this tragedy to an end," Brent-Styan says.
Residents are also still urged to use water sparingly despite the fire fighting efforts, as water levels are running critically low.
