Coronavirus: A visual guide to the outbreak in SA

Coronavirus- a fast-moving infection which originated in China - hit South Africa in March after a group of nine people returned from a ski trip in Italy.

The virus has spread to more than 100 countries and claimed more than 4 200 lives.
People with Covid-19 have symptoms including cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or fever, but these can also be signs of the flu.
To date, there have been 13 confirmed cases in South Africa with Western Cape recording its first case on Wednesday.

There haven't been any confirmed deaths.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says 645 tests have been conducted thus far.
