Covid-19: KZN overtakes Western Cape

KwaZulu-Natal has surpassed the Western Cape to become the province with the second highest number of Covid-19 infections in the country.

The three provinces which have the highest number of Covid-19 infections are Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.
KZN showed another sharp increase in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday night that pushed the number of infections in the province over the 100 000 mark.

As of Tuesday, 566 109 Covid-19 infections were recorded, with recoveries increasing to 426 125.
The recovery rate has increased by 1% from Tuesday, and now stands at 75%.
The country recorded 130 more deaths, bringing the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 10 751.
