Mabuza tests negative for COVID-19

Deputy President David Mabuza has tested negative for coronavirus.

The office of the Deputy Presidency confirmed the details in a statement released on Sunday.
"Noting the interest of the public in status of Deputy President Mabuza, the South African Defence Force and the Office of the Deputy President has resolved that it is in the public interest to assure all South Africans that the Deputy President tested negative for COVID-19," reads the statement.
There has been growing concern over Mabuza's COVID-19 status, after he was seen standing next to African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) leader, Kenneth Meshoe, in a picture.
Meshoe tested positive for the virus after attending a mass church gathering in Bloemfontein at the Divine Restoration Ministries and is currently self isolating.
Evangelist pastor Angus Buchanan, who also attended the same prayer meeting, also tested positive for COVID-19.
The prayer meeting is believed to have been attended by over 300 worshippers in the Free State.
