Kagiso Media Hunger Relief Fund: The Eye of Hope
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The Eye of Hope is a youth based Educational Programme founded two years ago by now 16-year old Kutloano Malahlela from Mamelodi.
Kagiso Media, owners of Jacaranda FM and East Coast Radio have put together the KM Hunger Relief Fund to assist communities in need during the drawn-out Covid-19 lockdown in South Africa.
The most basic need remains food. Over the next two weeks, Jacaranda FM will give a platform to four organisations per day, who actively work within afflicted communities to feed the thousands of families who currently cannot earn a living. We want to know who these community Angels are and how our listener community can assist them. Jacaranda FM will also equally distribute R500 000,00 from the Kagiso Media Hunger Relief Fund to these organisations in the form of AngelRands.
We will publish the details of each organisation on www.jacarandafm.com so you can contact them and donate directly to assist the essential work they do.
The Eye of Hope
Kutloano Malahlela initially started this programme to assist some 60 girls and women with sanitary towels. He has now added a food programme to collect food and donate hampers of food, toiletries and sanitary pads to the needy.
They are currently assisting 20 households but could assist many more if they had to funds or donated items. “We would appreciate it if you can help us to grow our program to reach other people within our communities”.
