Amputee Xolani Luvuno on his inspiring Comrades run & next challenge
Updated | By Di Macpherson
Footage of amputee runner Xolani Luvuno tackling this year's Comrades Marathon down-run captured the imagination of the nation.

Social media was flooded with images of Xolani, whose participation was a special concession made by Race Director Rowyn James. He was allowed 16 hours to complete the race compared to the standard 12 hours.
The Pretoria local – who used to be homeless - completed the distance in a total time of 15 hours and 50 minutes. He ran with his mentor, Hein Venter, at his side the whole way.
Xolani is a former drug addict who has also survived bone cancer. The latter resulted in the amputation of his right leg.
Good Things Guy Brent Lindeque caught up with Xolani to talk about his inspiring run; his strength and determination and his next epic challenge.
