Tired of eating the same boring thing for breakfast? Try a bagel sandwich. It won't disappoint. 

Bagels are popular in countries like Poland, America, and Canada, but they aren't a staple breakfast food in South Africa. 

The good news is you don't have to fly to New York City to get the best bagels. 

You can buy bagels at your local grocery store and add delicious toppings for a breakfast fit for a queen—a bagel queen. 

We found three recipes on TikTok worth trying.

Millionaire bacon and eggs bagel

Love bacon and eggs? This bacon, egg and cheese bagel will be your new favourite breakfast. 

The secret ingredient "millionaire bacon," aka candied bacon. Each strip of thick bacon is coated in a mix of brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper—you can also use cayenne pepper—and then baked to caramelised perfection.

There's French toast and then there are French toast bagels. Different but the same. 

Top your French toast bagels with cream cheese, berry compote and maple syrup like TikToker @alixtraeger.

Chopped bagel

There is a method to the madness as far as this bagel is concerned. 

Dump cream cheese, smoked salmon, crispy bacon, a red onion, cucumber, dill and your choice of herbs and spices onto a chop board. 

Chop, chop, chop!

Mix everything together and place it on your bagel.
