Updated | By Dean Paulse
Here are five things to do during load shedding on weekends.

Load shedding has taken its toll on thousands of South Africans.
On Thursday, Eskom downgraded stage 6 load shedding on Friday to stage 4.
On Friday, Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter said that more than R1-billion has been spent on diesel during the month of June.
"Total spent for the month of June was R1,54-billion against the budget of R700-million, so we spent double allocated amount. Where we have spent so far in our financial year to date R4.14-billion versus a budget of R1,99-billion."
Due to load shedding, South Africans are stranded and have little to do.
Here are five things to do during load shedding - especially on weekends.
1. Download series and movies on your phone or laptop
Platforms like Netflix allows subscribers to download their favorite series and movies to watch whenever they have the time.

2. Organise a braai or picnic with friends and family
Get your friends and family together for a lovely afternoon braai or picnic in a public park.

3. Go for a walk
Go for a walk with your partner, friend, or dog in a park or in your neighborhood.

4. Go shopping
Want to dodge your load-shedding schedule on a weekend? Shopping is one of the best ways to get away. While doing that - take a break and go for a coffee.

5. Spring clean
Clean your house/apartment and get rid of old things you don't want anymore.
