Benson Boone claps back at online haters
Updated | By Music Reporter
If you hate Benson Boone or his music, at least have a good reason for it.

Benson Boone has a public service announcement for trolls after receiving hate online.
The 'Beautiful Things' singer took to TikTok this week to address his critics.
"If you hate me or my music, at least have a good reason for it," he said.
"I just read a comment that said 'idek why I hate Benson Boone but it feels right.' Like WHAT!!? How am I supposed to improve after reading that?"
Boone says his haters should give valid reasons for their hate.
"At least say something valid like, 'He low-key just flips everywhere, can he [do] anything else?' Or even, 'I just don't like his songs even though I'm basing my opinion off the only one I've heard over and over (super valid),'" he added.
One of his followers agreed that radio overplay can lead to unjustified hate.
"I feel like sometimes when a radio overplays a song a LOT like 'Beautiful Things', for example, it can ruin the song and therefore the artist by proxy, without it having to do anything w you directly."
Boone agreed.
"Honestly, this is so true!"

The haters might have a lot to say, but they can't stop Boone's success.
He recently performed at the 2025 Coachella music festival in California.
Boone pulled out all the stops during his set, which he described as his "biggest production" to date.
"The work, dedication, and time to build and see out something like this is near unfathomable. So many people are behind the scenes making this dream happen. I am so proud to have been a part of this show," he said after weekend one.
Boone also brought out Queen guitarist Brian May during his set.
"@brianmayforreal I have no words. You are easily one of the most legendary musicians of all time and I cannot thank you enough for coming out."
The 22-year-old was shocked that festivalgoers seemingly had no idea that they were in the presence of music greatness when May walked onstage.
He shared a funny video on TikTok of himself lip-syncing passionately to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' while using a banana as a mic.
“Me trying to get the Coachella crowd to understand what an absolute legend Brian May is and the cultural impact he has on music and THE WORLD," he wrote.
Some of his followers suggested that the Coachella crowd was too young to appreciate the incredible moment.
One person wrote, "I apologise for this new generation; they don't understand the cultural impact of QUEEN."
A second added: "And no one realises that Brian May had a stroke back in September that paralysed his left arm, so just the fact that this 77-year-old man recovered enough to even do this performance is a privilege."
