All eyes were on Jennifer Lopez at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), and not just because she was the show's host.

The 55-year-old opened Monday night's ceremony with an electrifying medley featuring some of the biggest songs of the past year.

At one point during her performance, the 'On the Floor' hitmaker shared a steamy kiss with a male and female dancer.

Many social media users noted that the kiss was similar to Madonna's iconic 2003 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), where she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera

"I hear the kisses are going viral. I felt it went really, really well," Lopez told Extra TV about her performance.

"I am such a perfectionist, I always feel like I could have done this little piece or that little piece [better]. It was perfect."

Social media users were also impressed. "55 years of age... It's time we put some respect on this woman's name," one person wrote.

Lopez also talked about her favourite parts of the show, which included introducing Janet Jackson to the stage.

Jackson received the Icon Award at the ceremony.

"She was one of my biggest inspirations," Lopez said.

As the show's host, Lopez ensured she looked her best throughout the evening.

She wore eight different outfits, including a gold metallic halter dress with two thigh-high slits and a Miss Sohee gown with a plunging neckline.

Fan votes determine most of the winners at the AMAs.

Billie Eilish, Beyoncé and Eminem were some of the big winners on the night. Eilish won seven awards, including  'Artist of the Year', 'Album of the Year', 'Favourite Female Pop Artist' and 'Song of the Year' for 'Birds of a Feather'.

Beyoncé was named 'Favourite Female Country Artist' and 'Favourite Country Album' for 'Cowboy Carter'.

Eminem won awards for 'Favourite Male Hip-Hop Artist' and 'Favourite Hip-Hop Album' for 'The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)'.

Other winners included Gracie Abrams, Doechii, Post Malone, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

South African singer Tyla was nominated in the 'Favourite Female R&B Artist' category. SZA won the award.
