Sabrina Carpenter unveils special edition album cover

The special edition cover is a lot less controversial than the original.

Sabrina Carpenter has shared a special edition cover for her new album, 'Man's Best Friend', following an outcry over the original version.

The 'Espresso' singer announced the album's title and released its cover art in June.

While fans were thrilled about her new project, many expressed concern over the provocative cover.

It showed Carpenter on all fours like a dog while wearing a black mini dress. A man, whose upper body could not be seen, grips her hair with his hand.

One person commented, "This cover art is so disgusting. As a fan, I don’t like it."

"I think it's a mistake since most [of] her fans are women and as a DV [domestic violence] survivor, I find it uncomfortable and I'd rather see her empowered than like that 😐. IDK I don't wanna be negative, I'm sorry, maybe it's just me," another fan commented.

This week, Carpenter shared a new special edition cover of the album.

"New special edition cover of 'Man’s Best Friend' available to pre-order now exclusively on rose vinyl," she said.

The cover shows her sitting on a blue chair, dressed in black and white lingerie. Carpenter is surrounded by pink, white, and red flowers.

While not the official album cover, Carpenter's fans appear to love the new cover art much more.

"Why wasn’t this the cover in the beginning?" one of her followers asked.

"This is my favourite one so far," another follower said.

A third commented, "The prettiest cover yet!"

'Man's Best Friend', which is out August 29, will also be available on vinyl, CD, and cassette.

The album's lead single, 'Manchild', is currently #13 on the CTM Top 40 with Danny Painter
