DA to brief media on coalition talks
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The DA says it's preparing to start coalition talks for municipalities and metro's where no party could achieve the 50 percent mark.
The country's eyes are on Gauteng, where the counting of votes in the City of Johannesburg is taking the longest.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane is expected to brief the media at the IEC's National Results Operation Centre (ROC) in the west of Pretoria at 10.30am.
He will lead a DA delegation to answer questions from the media.
The DA has labelled the Local Government Elections as watershed elections in which the official opposition rewrote the history books.
It emerged as the biggest party in Nelson Mandela Bay in Port Elizabeth and seems to be doing the same in the crucial seat of government in the capital Tshwane.
The ANC and DA are still fighting it out in Johannesburg.
