A five-year-old girl burnt to death in a shack fire in Ga-Kgapane, Bolobedu, outside Tzaneen, over the weekend, Limpopo police said on Monday.

Lebogang Ramahlo was asleep in a shack when it caught fire while her mother was away, Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
The cause of the fire was not clear, but initial investigations indicated it may have been caused by a stove fire in the shack.
An inquest docket was opened.
